The lodge dates back to the 1930’s. The original lodge was built by Gene Rioux who sold it in the early 1950‘s.A fire in the early 60’s destroyed the original lodge.

Some years ago we experimented with copper bathtubs at the lodge, “tubs with views.” They received a lot interest from our guests. The tubs were made in Mexico.
If we were asked to describe the lodge’s philosophy to a guest, here is what we would say we have tried to achieve - you be the judge.
Sleep & live in 21st century wooden technology. All our cottages are unique but the two cottages we built in 2017/18 are so unique you will not find construction like this in North America.
Is the French River a river? Don’t be confused by the name of this water system. This is not two banks and a rushing stream.
