A large living room opens, with French doors, onto a screened porch. A well equipped kitchen overlooks the water. Two bedrooms, both with queen beds, open off the living room. Alexander Henry the Elder and his nephew, Alexander Henry the Younger, were two of Canada’s early and influential entreprenuers involved in the fur trade. Both travelled the waters of the French River in the mid-1700s and early 1800s, on their way to and from the west, many times. Both were partners in the Northwest company. Alexander the younger is famous for his diary, which is considered the best source of a fur traders daily life in the Northwest.
