“Gorgeous, relaxing honeymoon.”

One bedroom
Some of our guests call this the tree house. It feels like that. Positioned on a small bluff, the screened porch hangs over the water directly below. Views, through the mid sections of the trees, are spectacular. A private bedroom has a King bed – twin if you prefer. Lie in the bed and marvel at the wonderful view of the water, stretching away in front of the cottage. A large kitchen/dining area opens into a living area and French doors, to a screened porch with a hammock.
Sun rises to the south of this cottage and sets to the north
Frances Simpson (née Ramsay), travelled down the French River in 1830, on her way to marry George Simpson, the Governor of the Hudson’s Bay Company. Lady Simpson, as she would later become, was the first British woman to travel the river. We think she would have loved to stop and rest at the cottage that now bears her name.
